Appearance: Elisabet is a waif of a girl. She is very slim, with only modest curves, lean in most places, with very long legs, still in the midst of growing. She has naturally ivory pale skin, and very dark brown hair that falls down her back. Bet is quite vain about her hair and keeps it glossy, sometimes worn straight and sometimes in waves or pulled up. She has large brown eyes and pretty, delicate features. Betty is a bit of a fashionista and has an excellent sense of style. She favors sleek, dark clothes when she’s working, adding pretty feminine things when she is not.
Psychic Ability: Illusion creation.
Expanded abilities: Elisabet is able to cast illusions that fool the sight. Basically she is acting on the minds around her, making them see things that aren’t there. These illusions can take any size or shape that she wants, although she often uses subtle illusions to fool people. She can cover her self in an illusion as well so that she appears different. Her illusions are very convincing, and the mind often thinks that they are real, so they can at times do actual damage. For example, if she convinced someone that they were drowning, the body might actually believe it and begin to show signs of oxygen deprivation.
Limitations: Her illusions cannot fool electronics - so seen through a security camera (or any camera), Betty’s illusions would fail. Her illusions fool sight only, not the other senses, and they are not tangible. When she is very emotional, she finds it harder to hold onto illusions.
Personality: Betty is spoiled. She expects things to go her way. When she is happy, then she is in a good mood, and can be quite generous with her friends and the people she likes. She will have fun and loves to chat and be silly and almost cute. When she is angry though, she’s a little terror. She goes into dark moods which has had people nicknaming her ‘Black Betty’ (mostly behind her back). The rhyme ‘when she was good she was very good, and when she was bad she was horrid’ describes Betty very well.
Strengths: Betty is a very good thief - she uses her illusions to cover up when she is stealing things from stores. She has taken a liking to whips and is training with them and learning how to use them very well.
Weaknesses: Betty does not like being told what to do and sometimes butts heads with people she shouldn’t, which has gotten her in trouble before and surely will again. She is lactose intolerant.
Likes: Clothes, make-up, whips, coffee, expensive jewelry and perfume, red wine (which she sneaks from older psychics), stealing things, chocolate, bubble baths, America’s Next Top Model.
Dislikes: People with no style, cheap clothing, being told ‘no’, milk products, broken heels, chipped nail polish, being bored.
History: Elisabet always knew she was adopted. Her mother and father sat her down when she was ten and explained this to her. She did not know who her birth parents were though, but that was fine. Her adoptive parents were well off and spoiled her completely. She lived with them in a huge NYC apartment and had everything she wanted. Pretty clothes, pretty toys, everything.
When she was twelve, strange things started to happen. She’d think of something she wanted and it would be there, but her hand would go through it. After a while, she could make it happen when she wanted. She told her parents, who were both shocked and amazed. They took their daughter to a doctor to make sure everything was alright. She was in perfect health.
A representative of Project Stargate came calling soon enough. For Project Stargate monitored hospitals, doctors offices and psychiatrists for just such cases. The man presented himself and told Betty’s parents a bit of a lie - they he worked at a facility that helped people such as Betty. Told them she was special and that her gift should be honed. Betty was curious. She wanted to go. She convinced her parents, and when she was thirteen she was off to the Project Stargate base in New Hampshire. She hasn’t looked back since.
